Submit a Summer-Themed Speculative Short Story! Show us just how magical or sci-fi you can get at the beach or the pool or anywhere you love to hang out in the summertime. Let your imagination roam free! We’re looking for some serious storytelling talent to promote over the Summer.

Submitting to our Black Galaxy Literary Magazine is perfect if you are a Black writer who wants to get your stories published and promoted, but haven’t written a book yet or you prefer to publish short pieces to get more exposure and notoriety. Authors can submit up to 3 pieces within a 90-day period.

Literary pieces CANNOT be published anywhere else prior to publishing with us!

Pieces MUST BE ORIGINAL!

Flash Fiction: 500-1999 word count

$10 Submission Fee

Short Stories: 2000-8000 word count

$15 Submission Fee

Languages: Books must be written primarily in English. We do accept works that incorporate AAVE, Caribbean Patwa, and other dialects and accents; however, the bulk of the story must be written in Standard English.

International Submissions Are Welcome!

Genre: Speculative Fiction including Fantasy, Science Fiction, Contemporary, and Romance. Stories must be written by a writer of Black/African Descent.
