Lemons & Gold Publishing is a boutique indie publishing house that is dedicated to publishing, promoting, and supporting the work of Black authors who write in the genres of sci-fi, fantasy, and other forms of speculative fiction. Our brand started in a small, humble apartment of our founder, Khàli LaBré, as she wrote and published her very first novel, Dreams of Akasha: The Visionary Chronicles, while completing her studies as a student at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida in July 2018.

The name Lemons & Gold symbolizes rebirth. It means to take the lemons that life gives us, and turn them into gold, or as Khàli always says: “Take the dirt that you accumulate in life and make it cake batter.” Lemons & Gold Publishing is all about loving and believing in yourself, knowing that you will always overcome your obstacles no matter how long it takes. Be the phoenix and rise from the ashes, keep your vision, and don’t let anyone stop you.

Although we are in the business of publishing and promoting a niche of authors that are usually rejected and ignored in the mainstream publishing industry, which are Black authors that write speculative fiction genres, our content here at Lemons & Gold Publishing is to be consumed and enjoyed by all demographics.

We are the Voice of the Black Superhero.
